Sailong aerogel film/pad is mainly used for insulation and flame retardancy between the battery cells in lithium-ion power batteries, as well as insulation and shock resistance between the module and the housing. In pursuit of volumetric energy density, lithium battery manufacturers do not leave much space for insulation layers between the battery cells. Aerogel, with its excellent flame retardant and insulation properties, as well as its low usage amount, has become the best choice for insulation materials in lithium battery cells.
Saolong aerogel film/pad is a composite insulation material made of silica aerogel and pre-oxidized silk, ceramic fibers, glass fibers, or other types of fibers. It is encapsulated with polymer films (PET, PI) or flame retardant coatings, and is formed through thermal pressing or coating techniques.

It is V0 flame retardant and non-toxic.
When the battery cell overheats and ignites, the main component SiO2 nanoporous structure of the aerogel insulation pad/film can effectively block or delay the spread of fire and avoid the release of toxic gases, providing enough time for evacuation.
Lightweight with thin thickness.
The lightweight and thin profile of the aerogel insulation pad/film can save space and reduce the weight of passive protection layers inside the battery pack.
